Hell if i would know. It has always been like that and i always kept saying the characters english name because the german ones are shit most of the time. Keeping Pokemon names the same for every country would make a lot easier.

I remember when the international gen 5 names got announced.Pretty much everyone agreed the German names were superior to the English ones.
