Well, all other league ends didn't have much at stake. This is the only time that the outcome determines the plot of this saga internally and not just transitioning to the next saga. All the other times, he lost because we needed to move on to the next saga. Now, there is something else at stake. Something that I don't think is going to happen. In fact, it's implied that it's not going to happen no matter who wins. If Alan needs to be defeated, it needs to be done here and now.

Replacing Devo with Soul Sacrifice just doesn't make any sense.
