Assuming my initial assumption is correct about Ariados, Trash, Skull Guy, I'd be more inclined to say Skull Guy will be new. I can't imagine he wouldn't have a single native pokemon on his team.

That being said, it's also possible that he has Skull Guy being from a past region and doesn't have Trash, but instead has a native pokemon. The only thing I'm pretty sure about is that he has three pokemon.

I can only assume that Guzma wanted to be the Dark-type Trial Captain or something, but couldn't cut it. That's how they'll once again excuse not having a Dark-type gym/trial/whatever.

I always feel like I'm playing Nuzlockes wrong when I see this in comics or threads. I usually keep Pokemon I don't train on my team specifically for switch fodder.
