Yes it does. Every other game is a sequel/spin off of the first one. Its originality is a factor. The impact of R/B will never be equalled by any other pokemon game.

This isn't a good thing for video games. Video game stories are bad to begin with. Having a game filled to the brim with the story elements can be detrimental for the gameing experience (i.e. Last of Us, Bioshock infinite). Gen V and VII heavy focus on a cookie cutter story were annoying.

Nah, the Emerald Battle Frontier trumps PWT, and the time mechanic is kind of a double edged sword. BW2 has the physical special split on Emerald and that's really it.

I know ORAS blew for so many reasons, but I had lots of fun with the story mode in X, plus they introduced some neat mechanics like hordes and destiny knot to help along with training and breeding.

Not him, but it's quicker, and every battle is something you actually care about, instead of an endless string of randos. The Emerald frontier was great because it actually felt like you had a second string of gym leaders to defeat, and these guys actually kind of put up a fight. Too bad you had to go through 40+ mind numbing battles to get to them. Not fun. Not all that challenging either, for that matter, just boring.
PWT has none of that shit, just the gym leaders for you to fight, which is why it was the only facility I actually bothered with since Emerald. I was more broken up about the lack of gym leader rematches in ORAS than any kind of Frontier, desu.
