I had to get out of church early to get my copy of HG, along with my DSi, and they were already out of some of the preorder goodies The stylus kit was gone, the shirt they had left barely fit me, but I got the figurine, and since I also got a DSi at the same time, I got a Platinum DS case and stylus clicky pen. That shirt was the bomb. It had Ho-Oh on one side, Lugia on the other, and the logo for each game on each sleeve respectively.

I agree, it was the comfiest region. I hadn't played Johto until a year before that, since my religious parents said Pokemon was 'too violent' until I was 12, and I was 14 when HG/SS came out. My favorite playthrough team is still the one I used on HG, and that team rocks the battle facilities in Battle Revolution. Scrappy Kangaskhan FTW.

I love Johto but it reminds me how much of a scum fuck I was at 10 years old.

I stole my friend's Lugia and Feraligatr at a big sleep over, around 12 kids or so.
To top it off I blamed it on the weird, possibly autistic kid and he was ostracized until middle school.

I felt so bad but couldn't bring myself to apologize so I just boxed the mons I stole and never used them.

Johto is pretty based. I find that the gen has the lowest miss rate for pokemon designs (although its highs aren't as great as other games), and it has 1.75 regions of content which is great. It was super cool to see what happened to Kanto a while after the originals.

Johto plays it pretty safe compared to some other gens, but as a result it doesn't do anything really bad. Definitely in the top 3 gens.

There's another trick to easily realize it's the best region. Game Freak gives it no attention. Unlike Cancerto.
