The XY movies really just felt like filler like the BW movies. Like it felt like they were building up to something with the Diancie movie, with Yveltal still out and about while Xerneas is reverted back to a tree. I thought they were going to try and do another trilogy like the Sinnoh movies.

From the start I had imagined that Hoopa would be one of those action movies with just enough lore to understand why everyone is killing themselves, so I was pretty entertained when the outcome was just that, though there were a lot of nonsense and inconsistencies.

Do you think, when Volcanion's concept was being finalized, Magearna was already in development by that point, and if so, was it intended to be "paired" with Volcanion from the beginning (as in a legendary "duo")?

I only ask because if that isn't the case, then Magearna literally cucked Volcanion from having a movie of its own and now it has to share the spotlight with what is essentially a shameless S/M promotion.

Like damn at least Latias and Latios/Manaphy/Zoroark got their *own* end-of-gen/new-gen-on-the-way movies, Volcanion has to constantly stand in a room next to the infinitely more intriguing (and not datamined to hell and back) Magearna.

That's why a list should be done properly.
Tell people that the shorts, movie previews, and movies might be interesting, but ultimately can be skipped or watched later due to no bearing on the main series.
And especially note that the Mega Evo specials are important, because I'm sure I'm not the only person who looked at the titles and assumed they were just going to be mega evolution fanwank and not back story on the regional team and a major character.
