I can see this working.

Going to have to go with "coincidence".

When I saw the Growlithe water form rumor I assumed we'd get an Alolan Ekans (probably also water?) to match Sandshrew, if the Growlithe thing be true. Maybe we'll get dark Mankey too. Or a calmed, fighting/psychic Mankey to counter dark Meowth.

I would fucking love alternate forms for all of the Oddish, seems fitting with Bellossum being a hula dancer.

A Fairy type Bellossom would be so awesome and would be the perfect contrast to Vileplume.
