Happened to me today when challenging the rival in SoulSilver:

The rival sent out his Alakazam, I switched to my Typhlosion, because my previous Pokemon used Light Screen it means that Alakazam's 135 SpA was halved, so the rival switched to its Feraligatr.

For people that haven't played SoulSilver in the rematches his Feraligatr is a physical attacker with Aqua Tail as main STAB.
