Charmander and Bulbasaur are culprets of just getting bigger, but at least there's some consistency with their designs.
Squirtle goes from blue turtle with big tail, to purple turtle with big tail and ears, to fucking hippo looking fucker with generic and small ears and tail, and cannons out of fucking nowhere.
Gen 1 starters were soooo badly designed. Ugh.
