Also even if they were going for an eclipse theme with Malshadow, Dark type isn't literally "Dark" but "Evil" in Japanese.

Unless they wanted to make a legendary that counters both box legends- but why then would they make the "Sun" element strong against the sun Pokemon and vice versa?
