Up until gen 3, I always tried to avoid having a starter as an 'ace' or my favorite, but Swampert is the fucking GOAT design. I don't even know what about it drew me in as a like, 12 or so year old playing Pokemon Ruby, it's just such a fucking menacing looking swamp monster. Its original sprite looks all chubby and tanky, but over the years, it's gotten more bulky.

When that mega was revealed, I nearly came, to see my longest time bro get such an amazing form. You guys don't even understand, throughout the series, swampert has been the pikachu to my ash

Gardevoir for some reason. I think it started with me being salty as a kid that Wally had found a rare pokemon so easily so I just started looking for one in the same spot as he caught his until I found one for myself. Since then if Gardevoir is found during the course of the game, I'll have one in my team.

More recently Volcarona has also become a staple of my team. I still have my OG one from Black.

I'd say my signature is Scrafty. I've trained three of them to 100, one of which is Shiny, and I think it's probably my current favorite Pokemon. Alternatives might be Scolipede and Crobat. Crobat was my first 100, and I've got a shiny Crobat, but I've only trained two of them to 100. I've also trained like three Scolipedes, but only brought one with speed boost all the way to 100.

I have to admit I'm a fairly recent convert though. I overlooked him back in RSE but got interested after they introduced fairy typing. Was not disappointed; he's such a little beast it's incredible.

Illumise and Volbeat (They are so similar that I just consider them the same Pokemon).

During my bug monotype run of emerald, they are what carried me through the elite four. Their wide move pool really helped a lot.

Lucario is pretty much my signature mon since I use him a lot in side games as well (Smash Bros and Pokken). Even when he isn't the most important mons in my main game teams, I just like having one on my team, although I'll try to give them different movepools in different games. Even if he gets shrilled far too much by Game Freak, I still like its design in general. Which is funny considering that at first I was baffled why they put him him in Smash Bros Brawl to begin with. He eventually grew on me apparently. Yes, I know how my taste is quite bad, but I hear that with more things.
