Charizard is my favorite Pokemon, but most other fire types are dogshit. Blaziken and Darmanitan are great. Can't think of much else, just a bunch of dogs and furries. Plus, the type itself isn't that great despite all its resistances. That weakness to Rock AND Ground is tough to live with.

The only good Fire mons (from designs) in the first two gens were Ninetales and Houndoom. Hoenn had a few, Sinnoh had one, and gens 5-6 had none.
Also water, dragon and fairy are some of much more effective types competetively.
