tl;dr you find out your secret ID and you find out your shiny frames. Trick is you have to catch a random shiny the old fashioned way, and calc its iv's and put it in some hard to find program

Is it strange to shiny hunt with no intention of using them, trading them, or anything of that nature? I don't even show them off unless I just encountered them.

I'm starting to wonder why I even hunt for them, considering this. Might be a little late for that since I have over 30.

Not that guy, but personally I dislike the shiny charm or any method that makes shinies easier to find. It goes against the entire concept if you ask me, and I hate that they doubled the odds in gen 6. I'm sure someday shinies will be a 1 in 100 chance or something ridiculous.

Fish chaining is particularly silly, I once got a shiny from it in 11 minutes to prove how pitiful it is.

Get yourself a foreign ditto for Masuda Method, and Horde Hunting is your friend.
Also ORAS is the best game to hatch eggs in since the Daycare and infinite loop are in the same place.
Also, if you have a pokemon with Flame Body(Larvesta, Volcorona, Talonflame) or Magma Armor(Slugma, Magcargo) it will cut the amount of steps needed to hatch an egg by half.

I'm not sure how chain fishing works.
But chaining with the DexNav does nothing.
The only thing that matters is your Encounter rate, and that just gives you a chance at a mon with decent IVs. Dexnav gives you a flat increase to the odds of finding a shiny, I think it's the same as MM.
You have the same chance of finding a shiny on your first encounter as your thousandth.

It finally happened.
I've been horde hunting for a Sandshrew all day and got it about 15 minutes ago.
Then I decided, "Oh, I might as well start SRing for Regigigas." I deposit my prize, load my team up with golems, and head to the Island Cave.
I head in there, not giving a fuck, hit the back room and the battle initiates.
I thought there would be an overworld sprite to save in front of, but no.
So I panic and reset and lost the Sandshrew.

As for nature, it already has a super low defense. But it could be better.

This is also white 2, wake up slap didn't get buffed from 60 to 70 power, so the minnicho can use it with the technician boost.

Only wished it had skill link and a slightly better nature, but I feel like I did good. Wished minnicho could learn icicle spear though.

So far as I can tell, the only thing you can't get is the Birds, so the best thing you can do is go back to FRLG, or try to get them from XY.
And ORAS is the only way to get shiny Zekrom and Reshiram.

Showderp invented it to troll people. The idea being you trap something that can't OHKO Slowbro and it forces an infinite battle that can only be ended by forfeit.
