Grass types are better at countering Vaporeon because they resist Water moves, but they're harder to get than Jolteon so it's not a bad evolution choice. Either way stop using Stardust, you'll find something stronger on its own in the wild eventually and realize that you basically wasted all the dust you've been using. You can do it pretty comfortably up until about 22/23. One even then you can continue to play freely as long as you're okay with serious grinding. Basically they give you good items when you level up incrementally, like the incubators, lures, incense, etc. You get them at level 20 and then the next level you get them at (I'm guessing, because I'm only level 24) is 25. Just to get from 24 to 25 takes 150,000 experience.

To put that in perspective, spinning a pokestop gives you 50 XP and catching a pokemon gives you 100 XP. And you will absolutely be out of the rarer items by right around level 23. So you'll be hatching eggs with your one infinite incubator while being completely out of lures and incense and everything and all you can really do is just grind the fuck out of wild pokemon and make sure you put your Lucky Eggs to their maximum potential.

I caved at level 23 and bought a single Lucky Egg to hit 24 thinking I'd get the rare items only to find out I have to level up again.

Hardly any around here. The local dratini spawns are kind of out of the way and not everyone knows about them because despite what you hear on 4chan, most people weren't using the scanners. Plenty of gyarados, even though they pretty much suck and aren't worth the effort.

Yeah see I don't know why they make lures cost more pokecoins than incense and lucky eggs. They pretty much attract garbage with maybe 1 out of 4 giving you a good rare. I shit you not I live in New York City the lures are pretty much ongoing 24/7 and the best pokemon I've seen pop is a 1550 Vaporeon.

Meanwhile incense gets you at least one good thing every time in my experience. Lucky Eggs are amazing for powerleveling and incubators are understandably more expensive than lucky eggs and incense.

Seriously lures are my least favorite of the rare items. You've seen one Zubat you've seen em all.

Evolve the middle one with the high CP no question. It's not even good enough to be ranked as a gym attacker or defender so it's pretty much a dex entry. But at least with the highest possible CP if you especially like Electrode you might be able to take out the odd Vaporeon or Slowbro or something. There's just no way for any player to go about using an Electric type effectively right now.

Your electrode's attacks (moveset) will matter way more than IVs, but unfortunately your current moveset doesn't predict the evolved moveset, it's just a gamble.

My gut says electric types will get buffed soon. You could have yourself a badass vape-wrecker if that happens. Or if they add self-destruct, which would be kind of funny.

It actually costs the same to level up before and after evolving, because the CP is multiplied and arc % stays the same. So you'd want to evolve first to see if the moveset is OK, then powerup from there.

It's that way, because of how badly those two Pokemon(along with Lapras and Vaporeon) blow everything else out of the water with CP, unfortunately. I'd expect some tiers to come up and all, no surprise Dragonite is good, but the gap in power is utterly insane. Dragonite can get one of the best moves for DPS in his fast AND charge slot, on top of the crazy stats.

Did I make a horrible mistake by choosing Team Instinct?

I can barely make 20 Coins per day, and I have to conquer all the gym's myself.

I'm considering starting all over, but I already have two 90% Dragonites and I'm level 23.

Some scanners are back up. Only one I've found though has a scan radius about the same as you do in game though, so... Kind of useless.

It's retarded, my friend does that because he's a lazy shit, but he literally sits with his iPhone and slowly moves his guy all over the map. Then moves it back to the house, and turns it off and let's his guy move naturally. He's level 23 now and never had a problem. On the flip side, my brother who drives a lot for work, has had non stop problems. He didn't know why until I told him he was getting a soft ban. I guess they don't like you going 75mph and also catching Pokemon. There's also a huge tunnel outside our town that runs through a mountain and he turns his phone off when he goes through it, because it will fuck up his game for an hour if he goes through with the game on.

There's a couple of programs you can get for your phone that gives you a very rudimentary detection system. Basically it'll show you any Pokemon that shows up near you in like a 50-100m radius, right before they appear.

It's great for when you're driving down some street, and normally would have blown right through it, but instead you get a notification and just have to back up and move a little bit to the side to get the Poké to appear. It's saved my ass a few times, would have missed a metric fuckton of Jigglypuffs and Shellders without it. It can also detect any Pokemon that appear at any poke stop with a lure active, even if it's a good half kilometre away.
