Given what we've seen out of this various >pokemon media< I think it's safe to say we've got a few things going on:

-Humans can have the following types: Normal, Dark, Fighting & Psychic and ignoring tool-use; Humans can learn a variety of moves from these types.

-Most Humans are NOT stronger than pokemon, but Humans can BECOME as strong or even stronger than "most" pokemon.

-Pokemon Humans are more Pokemon than they are "real humans"; they've had thousands of years of living, fucking and marrying one another to breed out any inconsistencies. You need to keep in mind that in prehistory people didn't consider most "humanoid pokemon" to be animals, but simply a different kind of people.
