Well, considering Malva is part of team flare and is likely to be revealed somehow I highly doubt Ash will even get the chance to face Diantha this season as the e4 will be in shambles. Up until now literally every champion we've seen fight was an exhibition match so it's obvious the real thing would require the e4 since they actually exist in the anime
