I was holding off buying LeafGreen, Ruby, and Sapphire. I planned to buy them after I finished doing everything I wanted to do in FireRed and Emerald. I forgot how new releases make prices jump.

I just bought RS and LG. It's not like I have anything better to do with my money. I got Ruby for 22$ because it has no sticker. I got Sapphire for 36$ because I wasn't patient and that was one of the few I could find when I was buying. I got LeafGreen for 48$ for the same reason. When I bought FR and Emerald I had much more time to find the best deals and stay up late when nobody was bidding.

Pokemon games usually just have a really, really long life on the shelves. It's pretty common to find stores still stocking games from the previous gen handheld even after they've stopped carrying every other game for that system. HGSS ended production pretty abruptly (probably because of the Pokewalker), so it has a pretty low supply as far as Pokemon games go.

It doesn't help that older Pokemon games, in general, have a really high demand because you can send Pokemon forward to the current games. Other games like Emerald would also inflate to ridiculous prices if slightly less copies were made.

Prices for HGSS were sky high since 2013 at very least.

Main reason it's worth more than other Pokemon games, besides being an excellent game of course, is simple - Pokewalker. You may pirate the game, but you can't pirate the PokeWalker, which was heavily advertised as one of the main features of this entry. After I posted it I realized that I've messed up my organization, volt white and blaze black as well as storm silver and sacred gold were in the vanilla roms folder while BW2 for example was in the hack folder
