My mom started playing Go a week or so after I downloaded it and is now only a couple levels below me despite never walking around (she's literally almost bedridden.) I tried to get her to play a mainline game when I was younger but she told me "I don't like having to read all that."

My parents aren't the best when it comes to technology (they're a few years shy of 60) so of course they've never played any of them. However my mom was always okay with it. She'd buy me the games for my birthday or Christmas and she'd let me watch the anime. She just thinks the idea of Pokémon is really cute and sweet. The only one she knows is Pikachu though. I remember running up to show her something I did that was cool and she'd play along and act like it was the coolest thing ever. I'm probably autistic, I know.

My parents only know gen 1 and a little of gen 2. They don't mind me liking Pokémon. Their favorite is Gengar.

They don't really care, there is no reason for them to do so. At worst I will get a playfull joke about it but they have never berated me for liking it.

They never played, but my mother used to watch the show with us when we were younger.

My father doesn't care, but for him, he see it just as a hobbie, my mother even has some favourites.

My older brother just bought a 3DS with OR and is waiting for SM. He played older versions but for different reasons it never get his hands on a console.

I lived with my grandparents and they absolutely hated it. They frequently said that buying me Pokemon was the single biggest mistake they ever made. I was actually banned from watching the TV show, my granddad actually hit me once when he came downstairs one morning and I was watching TV, and I wasn't even watching Pokemon at that time. That's how fucking paranoid they were about it. My grandmother was also salty about it because "it's a boy thing that girls shouldn't be interested in". Joke's on her because I came out as trans a few years later

My dad technically introduced me to Pokémon when he bought Stadium in early 2000. He blazed through the whole thing using Nidoking. He hasn't played any games at all in 15 years and my mother doesn't really care at all.

interestingly enough I have a small beanie-baby type doll of snorlax and my cat who is now about 16 really likes it. He always meows loudly with it in his mouth. We have to hide it sometimes or he wakes up the whole house.

My mom plays Pokémon GO sometimes but nothing more.
My dad used to play Pokémon Emerald all the time a few years ago. After that he didn't play games at all. With GO however he became interested again and is currently playing Black. He always happily tells me stuff like "Anon, I finally got that blue deer legendary!" Makes me smile

I couldn't say what is THE favourite of my mother, but in the group of Pokémon she liked, Poliwhirl isn't on the list.
She likes Charmander, but not Charizard since it was an asshole in the first season.

When I was a little boy, my dad had to draw tons of pokemon art for me and we even made some sculptures together.
He is a traditional artist, so everything ended up looking great.
I kinda miss those days, but I'm pretty sure he would still draw stuff for me if I'd ask him to, even though I'm 23.

Dad liked it, bought me my first game boy and a copy of Pokemon Blue. Caught him at times playing my games growing up.

They're the kind that freak out whenever they even hear about vidya in general and naturally Pokemon gets lumped in with the rest.
They think of it as a waste of time and a distraction from cultural enrichment. Just one hour of vidya is enough for them to scream addiction and draw the "it'll ruin your career" card, even though I found myself to play less and less Pokemon as my schedule gets increasingly busy and my enthusiasm dwindles.
I am well on my way to become a normie and I'm scared of this thought.

My dad thought it was fucking stupid and putting my head in the clouds. He was probably right. I feel uneasy going into the cemetary for pokemon go stuff knowing he's there.

My mom thinks it's great that i'm so passionate about something I like, and she tries to seem supportive, but bless her, it's so obvious she's only pretending to think it sounds interesting. I don't go out of my way to talk to her about it, she just wants to seem like she cares so she asks me about it first.
