The owl could be fun as a regional bird or a non evolving bird, but not as a starter. I'd never use the mermaid. The cat is really stupid looking, but I could see myself using it, assuming it were like the Machamp or Beartic type in a team, but it is really goofy so I still might not.

I actually dislike all three of their designs as Pokemon. They look like they would fit into another franchise more. It doesn't matter if they are fillers or starters to me. They are very overdesigned for Pokemon which normally is only an attribute for Legendaries. These three by far are my least favorite designs in the entire series. It's amazing how bad they are. They trumped all other revealed Pokemon up until this point.

Another thing to keep in mind is that we have already started to see those POS porn threads for cat and mermaid. These designs could not be worse for regular players. I've shown them to normie friends and they think they're disgusting. I've shown them to friends who play Pokemon but don't get on 4chan and they think they're disgusting.

It doesn't matter, who really use the starters anyway? Since gen4 all of them suck and get boxed

You know, it's not so much the fact that I think these shouldn't be evolutions of a starter, because that's exaggerating.

It's strange, because I feel these designs actually HAD potential, but in the end came out kind of badly executed, although that doesn't necessarily makes them bad. It's just that they kind of fail in some points.

I'd still dislike Litten3. Its design looks off to me and the fire belt is rather silly. The grey tank top and inflated fingers dont help. I think a fire wrestler could be done well concept-wise, but they didn't pull it off.

Garbador as a regular mon isnt a trash design, but garbador as a starter IS a trash design. People have higher expectations for a starter. Starter designs set them apart from the rest. Starter designs have expectations to uphold. Their is a tier in designs and starters are at the top. So the design depends on what roll it plays in the game castform doesnt play the same roll that garchomp plays, garchomp doesnt play the same roll in game that early route rodents do,rodents differ from evee's, evee's differ from game exclusives and counterparts. They all have rolls wich fit into tiers. Evee's are in a very high tier. So simply making garbador quadrapedal as a poison eveeloution would make it a trash design. But garbador has his place as an obligatory ugly cute mon thus in his roll his design makes sense. We get them in every gen. Muk, dunsparce etc etc

I like the archer and the siren. My problem is with that Litten evolution. I really really love Litten's design, it's sleek, simple, and cute. It perfectly captures what you want an edgy kitten to be. So in a perfect world, it would evolve into a bigger and stronger version of that. Very predator like, vicious, cruel even. Just a really edgy panther with fire and shit. But we live in a world where Game Freak makes eggs into dragon type palm trees, so the cool cat is the fourth motherfucking fire/fighting starter, something that goes completely away from its original design. I would rather it evolved into fucking Tigger because then I could at least laugh.

I think people forget that this was a separate leak from the other chinese leak. The person who made these could have saw that leak and based the archer, wrestler, and siren designs off of it. And all you would have to do is make sure the style is similar to other examples of concept art, and then boom, it looks real. I think the Mallow one could totally just be coincidence.

Like I said, I believe it, but when you actually sit down and look at the facts, there is little to suggest that this is real. So I can understand why some are in denial.
