Well, considering when I plan my teams I end up with a nice, well balanced, 6-man team with no need for HM slaves, and when I don't my starter is basically doing everything while the rest of my party is giftmon (when applicable) or HM slaves, I feel like planning is the better experience.
>tfw you have your next 6 runs planned out
>but no time to actually play any of them

are you me?
litten
gyrados
leafeon (i hope)
aloha ninetails
Oricorio if he has strong stats
idk what for sixth tho

I just play it and see how it goes

Whatever happened to just grooving with whatever happens to be at hand? NPCs hardly change their tactics, so an organized posse is a tad bit unneeded if you ask me.
>>27559098
I'll take one for you, share it
>>27559134
It makes sense to call it a run if anon is going to play it more than once.

I'll do my 6 Bibarel run eventually.

Filling in the last 5 with whatever legendaries I happened to find, or whatever HMs I needed. this lasted all the way from gen I, my first gen, all the way to IV, until I finally decided to plan my team for Platinum. Had fun looking forward to getting to the routes with the team I had selected, and I actually managed to make a real team. I haven't looked back since.

I know most of pokémon players are autistic as fuck but this alone transcends it and whoever does it should seek help from a specialist.
>>27559223
Alright, going to gen it up because I don't feel like breeding and trading eggs
Any nicknames you want to give them or anything?
I usually don't plan my teams, other than the starter, mostly pokemon from that gen (only exception was megas in Y), and obviously no legendary. However, I plan to use Rockruff though, assuming it's available early on.
I've been doing that since Platinum, but I haven't done it for Sun and Moon. Not loving a lot of the Gen 7 Pokemon to be honest.
>>27559251
plan doesn't mean what might actually happen. also it's not as if you ONLY use 6 pokemon in a game.
>>27559163
>>27559154
the problem for me with just "seeing how it goes" is that it never makes "sense" to pick up new dudes, because your current roster is always stronger than them. Once you fill out 6 slots with non-shitmons, which can happen very quickly in the newer games, why bother changing them? There's no incentive to "try out" new pokes, because it goes like this
>oh hey a growlithe
>I already have a Ninetales, but let's try growlithe
>oh wow he's so much worse, I don't wanna waste the time to train him up so I can compare fairly
>boxed forever

I'm actually the opposite, for both gen V and VI, there wasn't enough pokemon I was interested in shown pre-release to make a team.
for VI, however, I am already able to make two full teams worth just out of what we have already.
>playing anything but nuzlockes after your first playthrough
It's like playing tic-tac-toe with a child.

i dont know what nuzlocke is and i dont wanna google it
>>27558994
Closest thing I do to planning teams is using exclusively new mons when a new generation comes out. I guess that's why X and Y were my least favorites with barely any new mons and megas just begging me to use an old one.

>>27559328
Iwojima the Crawdaunt
RKO the Machamp
Voodoo the Shiftry
Epsilon the Claydol
Haggar the Walrein
Brickhouse the Pinsir
You'll take good care of my boys, wontcha?

same. I felt like I had to force myself.
fucking loved Gen V, though.
>>27559401
Of course, I'll work with them to become the very best! But what about genders, unless you want them all to be boys
I change my team before gyms and shit.
Who the fuck only use 6 mon per playthrough?
>>27559365
Nice b8 m8
>>27559437
They are all rude dudes with attitude!
>>27559422
I might have to put my Pokemon in bank and then do a second playthrough so that I can use Alolan forms. I'm starting to love the Pokebank service in more ways than one.
>caring about in-game playthroughs and teams
fucking Gofag casuals
>>27558994
Yeah i agree. I'll catch what I like and switch them out when i find things that I like more.
I just recently tried a planned team, and it felt kinda lame. There were so many other pokemon in the routes, but it felt pointless to use them when I knew they wouldn't end up in the final team.
>>27559696
literally what is the appeal of pokemon if not training pokemon that you like?
>not planning a bad team on purpose to get use out of shitmons like Vivillon, a never-evolving second stage starter, Aurorus and shit
