The middle evos for starters are always great designs. I love all of them without omission.

It's 50/50. I think these second stages are either worse than the third or first.

Wartortle is my favorite middle stage.

They're usually awkward teenagers. Croconaw, Combusken, Grovyle, Grotle, Prinplup, Quilladin- all of them are kind of goofy hints of what they'll become. They're value to their line for connecting their first form and third form, but I can't say I prefer them to the finished product.

Yes they are much more aesthetic I prefer most 2nd as well
