Predictions/hopes for the new Gen 7 fossil Pokemon.
C'mon Megalodon/Helicoprion and Plesiosaur/Mosasaur...!
Kanto > Sinnoh > Unova > Hoenn > Kalos
>>27553642
>>27553573
lapras has been in the game this entire time ya know
>>27553573
We need a Parasaurolophus
>>27553642
>What is Lapras
>>27553573
Eastern island head pokemon
did they skip some fossils in a few generations? it seems like we're missing a few.
>A feminine-ish pokemon has to be female guys
>A wrestler has to be male guys
>Hariyama
>Machamp
>Milotic
>Gardevoir
>Alakazam and Samurott have giant bushy mustaches
>can be female
>>27553691
Disregard I just woke up
>>27553704
gen2 had no new fossil mon
>>27553573
I got the T-rex I've always wanted in gen 6, so now I just need a stegosaurus.
megalodon/dodo bird/sabertooth tiger still waiting....
>>27553573
Either a raptor (Rock/Fighting, uses kicking moves), or Alola variants of existing fossils that somehow survived extinction and don't have a Rock typing at all.
>Pure Water Tirtouga that resembles its Gen II design
>>27553573
Megaloceros, Diatryma, Dromaeosaur, Dimetrodon, Gorgonopsid, Therizinosaurus, Amphiceolias, Smilodon, Mastodon, giant ground sloth, etc. etc.
Basically anything.
>>27553573
Megalodon or Mosasaur could be sweet. Its a shame they already used up a lot of the aquatic animal options.
>>27553643
>ranking based cradily this low
>ranking sinnoh that high
shit taste
What about a Scarab Beetle?
>Rock/Bug or Rock/Ground
>A fossilized stone scarab from the ancient past. Its whole body seems to be covered in priceless jewels, all of which seem to get harder and more powerful as the Pokemon evolves.
Rock/Fire Raptor with flame plumage. Fast as hell.
Rock/Electric Stegosaurus with a Jacob's Ladder in between it's back plates. High HP and SPA.
Rock/Water Megalodon that stands alone like Aerodactyl.
>>27553573
No more fucking Water types
>Rock/Electric
>SPARKAZM (Chasmosaurus)
>Pic related, make it look like this crossed with an electrical pylon
>Ability: Ground Absorb
>Learns Parabolic Charge
>Learns a more powerful Power Gem type move (90/100%)
HP: 65
Atk: 65
Def: 100
Spa: 100
Spd: 100
Spe: 81
>This peculiar-looking ancient monster thrived in the harsh atmosphere of primordial earth. Its crown-like cranium developed to be able to absorb energy and throw it into the sky at attacking Aerodactyl.
>Found from: Socket Fossil (get it hur hurr)
>>27554258
Forgot image.
>>27554287
>alolan triceratops
Can we not have a triceratops at long last? Maybe make it Rock/Ground too? I thought it was a pretty popular dino so it would be done earlier but mind you a T-Rex was only included last gen
>>27554544
Bastiodon is supposed to cover that whole. I wouldn't mind another ceratopsid, like >>27554258 though.
Personally, I hope that there are no fossils. Hawaii as an area is far too young to have fossilized land dwelling creatures.
>>27554544
Bastiodon
>>27553704
gen 2
>>27554592
What if instead of new fossils, the superior Alola Fossil Research Center gives us Purified Forms of previous fossils, without the Rock typing.
>>27554686
this would be really neat.
what would craniados become though?
>>27554741Normal
>>27553851
>what is a doduo and dotrio
>what is a raikou
>>27554774
emu and hamster
>>27554741
Dragon, obviously?
Bastiodon is going to tank its STAB no matter what.
Honestly, I think some 'mons should keep their rock types.
Kabuto, Lilleep, Aerodactyl, and Bastiodon.
>>27554774
Okay, something that actually does look like a dodo bird
>>27553573
The age of the islands could come into account. It's counterpart Hawaii has been around an estimated six million years. That would place the island as just a small molten lump of earth during the stone age. Animals of that time were Mammoths, sabertoothed cats, and Wooly Rhinoceros were around. However they weren't around in Hawaii. Hawaii had Gull birds that could fly and would nest, mollusks, plants, and fish as it's only known fossil records.
Here is a list of the extinct genus of hawaii
http://hbs.bishopmuseum.org/endangered/extinct.html
I don't think there will be any regional fossil in Alola, if there will be some I guess we're getting a Rock/Water marine fish or dino and another Rock/Bug or Rock/Grass ancient thing form the reef, or a Rock/Grass kelpmon or something.
Regardless, for the next gen, if there will ever be one, I was thinking about 3 fossils, 2 of them being mammals for once:
>Titanoboa cerrejonensis
>Smilodon gracilis / fatalis / populator
>Megaloceros giganteus
The mammals would be 2 stages evo families while the reptile would be a 1 single stage one.
Despite the different habitats and and ages the mammals would have a prey and predator relationship while the reptile would be a third party.
>Final stage of the Smilodon (g.) (f.) (p.) (Fang Fossil)
- Type: Rock / Fighting or Rock / Dark
- Ability: Defiant / Moxie (Hidden Ability: Stakeout)
- BST with Gen 1-3-4 495BST reference: 75/115/68/61/61/115
- BST with Gen 6 521BST reference: 83/115/75/65/68/115
>Final stage of the Megaloceros giganteus (Antler Fossil)
- Type: Rock / Ghost or Rock / Normal
- Ability: Sap Sipper / Cursed Body or Lighting Rod or Rivalry (Hidden Ability: Stamina)
- BST with Gen 1-3-4 495BST reference: 113/97/93/65/72/55
- BST with Gen 6 521BST reference: 113/103/98/70/77/60
>Single stage of Titanoboa cerrejonensis (Spine Fossil or Vertebrae Fossil or Scale Fossil)
- Type: Rock or Rock / Poison
- Ability: Multiscale / Marvel Scale (Hidden Ability: Arena Trap or Shed Skin)
- BST with Gen 1 515BST reference: 95/105/95/60/90/70 or 95/105/95/55/95/70 or 95/105/95/65/95/60
- BST with Gen 6 521BST reference: 96/105/100/60/90/70 or 96/105/95/60/95/70
- BST with Gyarados & Milotic 540BST reference: 95/100/125/60/79/81 or 95/79/125/60/100/81
A snake that is both a fossil and happens to follow the Gyarados and Milotic pattern except for the weak pre-evo would be cool I think.
>>27555220
Some notable attacks for those three would be:
>Smilodon:
Crunch / Pursuit / Hyper Fang / Super Fang / Superpower / Stone Edge / Rock Slide / Elemental Fang / Iron Tail / Hone Claws / Bulk Up / Stealth Rock / Wild Charge / Quick Attack / Sucker Punch / Double Kick / Play Rough / U-Turn / Knock Off / Copycat / Switcheroo
>Megaloceros giganteus
Bulk Up / Sword Dance / Rock Polish / Horn Leech / Wide Guard / Calm Mind / Rock Slide / Stone Edge / Double Edge / Jump Kick / Earthquake / Bulldoze / Facade / Phantom Force / Knock Off / Stealth Rock / Hypnosis / Counter / Role Play / Zen Headbutt / Wild Charge / Revenge / Megahorn / Superpower / Iron Head / Poison Jab / Amnesia / Magic Coat / Trick / Skull Bash
>Titanoboa cerrejonensis
Glare / Coil / Stone Edge / Rock Slide / Gunk Shot / Stockpile / Dragon Tail / Iron Tail / Earthquake / Elemental Fang / Crunch / Aqua Tail / Dragon Dance / Stealth Rock / Payback / Counter / Mirror Coat
That's a repost from the old thread.
Anklosaurus plz. :(

Otherwise a "living fossil" like the Welwitschia mirabilis
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welwitschia
or the Wollemia nobilis
Here's a list of other possible species, some are bland and boring tho. I was surprised by the pellican being such an ancient species compared to other known living fossils.

It can live up to 2000 years or so and is considered as a borderline tree or one of the modern tree ancestors. Alolan Exeggutor is so far the tallest Pokemon and tree, this "tree" / plant would be the shortest and flattest.
May have Regenerator, Adaptability or Arena Trap and Water Absorb as abilities, I imagine it using Grass Knot as signature attack using its 2 leaves. It may also be a concept for a trap plant that closes the enemies in a blossom like trap.
Alola is the perfect opportunity for some weird ass deep sea fossils.
maybe some kind of Rock/Ghost ancient jellyfish kind of thing, or a rock/psychic ancient sea scorpion
>>27553678
this
anything but another bipedal dinosaur
I hate gen 3 but imo they had the best fossils
>wanting more rock/water fossils
>>27555687
Scald :^)
>>27553573
rock/fighting Therizinosaurus when?
>>27554175
I like this. Scaruby or something like that with the ability dazzle.
>>27554175
would she throw poop at the enemies?
