Gen 1 has a couple of shit designs, of course, but it has the highest ceiling for designs. Some of the best designs to this day are from gen 1. Unpopular on /vp/.

Thats the idea. I kind of miss how in Gen 1 most things had very narrow movepools, and Normal's claim to fame was it could do a bit of everything.

I wouldn't want it to be exactly like Gen 1 of course, everything should get decent STAB moves, but I think some pokemon have too much coverage these days.

This is how it should have been

>Walk around with them battle and catch wild pokemon to level your starter up and evolve them
>Battle nearby real life trainers and gyms to level up your pokemon, actual levels from 1-1000 instead of 100, you level up faster than in the actual games but it still takes forever to reach max level.

Eeveelutions are overrated.

Vanilite and it's evolutions aren't that terrible, there are far lazier designs.

Golurk is literally the coolest design the series has seen, gen 5 was lackluster design wise but golurk is brilliant.

As someone who feels gen 1 is probably their favorite I feel gen 3 has probably the most overall quality designed pokemon.

Them switching it up gen 7 with no gyms sounds like a great idea, it would be nice to switch things up.

Alternative forms are what we should've gotten instead of megas.

Mystery dungeon series > main series, sky is the best pokemon game ever made.

I personally preffered BW1 over BW2, not that BW2 is terrible.

I'm of the same opinion, although admittedly I only started feeling that way once I realized that I'm probably going to have to restart my mega stone collection every few years. AFAIK S&M won't be compatible with X/Y or ORAS so all of my stone collecting up to this point might just go down the drain since PB doesn't allow items.

I wholeheartedly agree but only by the music and story standards. Mystery dungeon gameplay is a bit too repetitive to be better than the main series games. The music though, is fucking incredible.
