Anyone got any ideas what they want/are expecting the fossil Pokemon to be in SuMo? I'm hoping for some form of Plesiosaur or something.
>>27528090
Plesio would be nice but another Rock/Water would be a bit meh. The design here is nice but sadly all fossils are rock type. Could till work as Rock/Ghost I guess because tons of fishmons float anyways
>>27528090
>SuMo
>>27528132
Yeah I thought that. I'd like to see either it being Rock/Ghost or Rock/Dark with water more in its movepool.
Pachy... All day
Rock/fighting
Headbutt
Rock Smash
Rocky Helmet
Etc. Etc.
Kinda writes itself
>>27528090
Parasaurolophus
Rock/Grass
>>27528179
>>27528179
It really does write itself, I guess that's why they already made one
>>27528090
>SuMo
Dunkleosteus, please.
Dinosaurs are great and all but I'd love to see some prehistoric mammals
practically gift wrapped
OP here, was also think oviraptor that could definitely be Rock/Dark. Shame there's no good Fakémon designs for this dino.
>>27528330
fits better with digimon
>>27528460
>Implying digivolution could be this coherent
>>27528090
>it just gets bigger
>rock/dark or rock/fire velociraptor
>rock/fairyspinosaurus
>rock/ghost sea scorpion
>>27528280
Pretty much relicanth, since it's based of its cloesest living descendant.
>>27528090
>I'm hoping for some form of Plesiosaur or something.
But we already have Lapras.
>>27528090
Posted this a while ago, but >Parasaurslophus.
>Rock/Fairy.
>Pink/Flower pattern to match fields in islands
>My favourite dinosaur
>Ability that powers up sound based attacks (disarming voice)
In case you didn't know, these dinos produced sound with their hollow crests.
They are herbivores, so more gentle, in a way. Have also been depictes as "tame" and "girly," think of Dinosaur King
Gimme a Plate Fossil for stegosaurus and Fang Fossil for sabertooth
>>27528370
Too close to archen, unless they added something that made it more about its quirk, like how breloom is very dinosaur like but his mushroom is more important.
>>27528686
>Ice/Rock
Because that worked out so well for Aurorus.
>>27528686
Take a look at the legendary dogs for you sabertooth. And the stegasuar needs to have a small neck. Plates should have holes like a chinease cash coin.
>>27528090
Top nek
>>27528765
The only reason it didn't work out well for Aurorus is the fact that it's slow. A Sabertooth would presumably be fast.
>>27528765
I agree, I'd prefer another steel rock type, but with something that'd give it an upper hand
>>27529012
4x fighting and 4x steel weakness on top of a ground weakness is always going to be shit.
A single mach or burrito bunch would take it out.
>>27528090
we dont need anymore lochness mons
>we had lapras and now drampa
>SuMo
Kill yourself reddit scum
Rock/Fighting Therizinosaurus with Sap Sipper (HA: Harvest)
Rock/Water Spinosaurus with Solar Power (HA: Swift Swim)
I dont think we'll have new fossilmons this gen just alolan fossil variations. But if we did id love to see this
>>27529203
>drampa is a loch ness monster
It's likely there won't be any fossils this gen, or if there are any they would be water based if anything.
Alola is really pushing the "yeah it's HAWAII nerds" vibe, and Hawaii wasn't even formed when dinosaurs were around
Caveman or neanderthals
Rock/Fighting
Why the fuck not?
We might get a dodo bird/a megalodon/sabertooth tiger.
>the sabertooth tiger could be a possible evolution for litten
>the megalodon could be possible alolan island guardian, since a hawaiian god is a shark.
>>27529442
because.
My fellow dino pokefags pls play fossil fighters
>>27528330
I don't like prehistoric Pokemon being steel type. Steel seems to modern
>>27528765
It doesn't have to work competitively retard.
hopefully we get genesect from a fossil.
>without the cybernetic exoskeleton
Rock/Electric Stegosaurus
Rock/Dark or Ghost Raptor

If it's just going to rot in a box somewhere, why bother making it?
>>27528090
>SuMo

>>27528330
>literally my moms chainsaw
>a fossil
>>27528090
Alola variants of existing fossilmons (ones that are alive on some isolated island and never gained Rock from being cloned)
Or a raptor that's Rock/Fighting and uses plenty of kicking moves.
>>27528765
Doesn't have to be Ice/Rock, can be Normal/Rock or just Rock. But who cares, tons of pokemon have shit competitive typing.
>>27528965
Raikou's inspiration draws from so much, I just want a simple fossil sabretooth to have another fast rock pokemon.
>>27529260
These are both pretty great.
I saw a spinosaurus fakemon a while back that had an Egyptian pharaoh theme... could be a neat rival for the European king Tyrantrum.
>>27528090
I would want a sabertooth but I could really dig a Dolphin and a Megalodon

What I want to see is a Rock/Fire Dimetrodon, and it's only fire because it warmed itself up with the sun, even though the sun is not really fire; and a either a Rock or Rock/Normal Gorgonopsid.
I know we have relicanth - but Dunkleosteus are fucking baller, maybe an evo or something?
pls gib yutyrannus fossil mon
These are pretty cool
>>27528090
>SuMo
Also a return to Cambrian Era fossils
A Mosasaurus or a Megalodon being Water/Dragon would be pretty cool
Maybe you find a scale fossil in a location you can only get to with dive or you dive so deep you encounter one of the last living ones, that could even be an island trial

A Mosasaurus or a Megalodon being Water/Dragon would be pretty cool
Maybe you find a scale fossil in a location you can only get to with dive or you dive so deep you encounter one of the last living ones, that could even be one of the island trials, with the megalodon or mosasaurus being the totem pokemon

Alolan Kabuto and Alolan Omanyte
>>27533217
I'd be pretty ok with this
What I want are a rock/dark Sabre tooth cat and a rock/fire Dire wolf, but those aren't very Hawaiian or tropical, so instead I hope we get a mosasaur and something else that's pretty rad like, I don't know, dimetrodon, I guess?
>>27528243
>>27533140
Yeah man fucking pterodactyls are land dinosaurs, the little land-dwelling shits don't have wings or anything
>>27529425

I believe you (and I'm too lazy to google), but some water fossil pokemon would still be neat.

>any fossils
Marine life was not completely absent m8
>>27533510
Yeah I'm sure they used to just hover in the sky until they were fossilised. They didn't live in the fucking sky you mongoloid.
Hallucigenia ftw! Kinda like an ancient, soft-bodied Corsola.
>>27528090
Why do fan artists always put bones into the design of prehistoric fakemon? Since when have they ever done that with real prehistoric pokemon?
>>27533140
>being this autistic
If they wanted it to be 100% like Hawaii they wouldn't have Pokemon on it at all, because Pokemon aren't real.
They've never cared the fossils in relation to the region in the past, no reason for them to now.
>>27534036
Years ago someone requested a Hallucigenia pokemon. So I made one.
It's holding it's eggs, which when held gives it immense defenses. Not sure on an ability however.
>>27534021
perhaps cloud fossils can exist in the pokemon world
it would be like the one world from smb3
>>27534168
Not to mention that there would be some TIKI THEMED POKEMON!!!!!!
>>27534287
The Pokedex mentions that Magikarp used to be stronger in the distant past than it is now, so let's see it! Maybe SuMo will let us revive an Ancient Magikarp fossil!
I don't think there will be any regional fossil in Alola.
Regardless, for the next gen, if there will ever be one, I was thinking about 3 fossils, 2 of them being mammals for once:
>Titanoboa cerrejonensis
>Smilodon gracilis / fatalis / populator
>Megaloceros giganteus
The mammals would be 2 stages evo families while the reptile would be a 1 single stage one.
Regardless of different habitats and and ages the mammals would have a prey and predator relationship while the reptile would be a third party.
>Final stage of the Smilodon (g.) (f.) (p.) (Fang Fossil)
- Type: Rock / Fighting or Rock / Dark
- Ability: Defiant / Moxie (Hidden Ability: Stakeout)
- BST with Gen 1-3-4 495BST reference: 75/115/68/61/61/115
- BST with Gen 6 521BST reference: 83/115/75/65/68/115
>Final stage of the Megaloceros giganteus (Antler Fossil)
- Type: Rock / Ghost or Rock / Normal
- Ability: Sap Sipper / Cursed Body or Lighting Rod or Rivalry (Hidden Ability: Stamina)
- BST with Gen 1-3-4 495BST reference: 113/97/93/65/72/55
- BST with Gen 6 521BST reference: 113/103/98/70/77/60
>Single stage of Titanoboa cerrejonensis (Spine Fossil or Vertebrae Fossil or Scale Fossil)
- Type: Rock or Rock / Poison
- Ability: Multiscale / Marvel Scale (Hidden Ability: Arena Trap or Shed Skin)
- BST with Gen 1 515BST reference: 95/105/95/60/90/70 or 95/105/95/55/95/70 or 95/105/95/65/95/60
- BST with Gen 6 521BST reference: 96/105/100/60/90/70 or 96/105/95/60/95/70
- BST with Gyarados & Milotic 540BST reference: 95/100/125/60/79/81 or 95/79/125/60/100/81
A snake that is both a fossil and happens to follow the Gyarados and Milotic pattern except for the weak pre-evo would be cool I think.
>>27528090
>SuMo
>it gets bigger
Some notable attacks for those three would be:
>Smilodon:
Crunch / Pursuit / Hyper Fang / Super Fang / Superpower / Stone Edge / Rock Slide / Elemental Fang / Iron Tail / Hone Claws / Bulk Up / Stealth Rock / Wild Charge / Quick Attack / Sucker Punch / Double Kick / Play Rough / U-Turn / Knock Off / Copycat / Switcheroo
>Megaloceros giganteus
Bulk Up / Sword Dance / Rock Polish / Horn Leech / Wide Guard / Calm Mind / Rock Slide / Stone Edge / Double Edge / Jump Kick / Earthquake / Bulldoze / Facade / Phantom Force / Knock Off / Stealth Rock / Hypnosis / Counter / Role Play / Zen Headbutt / Wild Charge / Revenge / Megahorn / Superpower / Iron Head / Poison Jab / Amnesia / Magic Coat / Trick / Skull Bash
>Titanoboa cerrejonensis
Glare / Coil / Stone Edge / Rock Slide / Gunk Shot / Stockpile / Dragon Tail / Iron Tail / Earthquake / Elemental Fang / Crunch / Aqua Tail / Dragon Dance / Stealth Rock / Payback / Counter / Mirror Coat
>>27534468
titanoboa would need some serious artistic license to its design, its just a snake thats big.
>>27531922
>spinosaurus fakemon a while back that had an Egyptian pharaoh theme
Fuckin' brilliant. Name could even have something to do with the Nile.
>>27534591
It may have a better visible scale pattern like Zygarde or Seviper's skin pattern. Arbok has a pretty boring body.
Maybe a body covered in short studs made of rocks or gems like diamonds.
A simple pure white pattern that looks like ribs and vertebrae on the back of its brown/grey/black body would be okay too, not like Houndoom which has actual bones on it, this one would be just made of scales.
>>27534096
It's Water/Ghost. I don't think it's a fanart issue here.
>>27534036
Yes.
This and Wiwaxia please
Helicoprion would be sick. Water/Rock would be the obvious choice, but that's kind of redundant. Maybe a Steel/Rock fossil with a saw blade face.
>>27528090
>SuMo
Go back. You know where you belong.

>>27528090
MEGOLODON
>>27528090
>Anyone got any ideas what they want/are expecting the fossil Pokemon to be in SuMo?
I think a Dodo Bird would be pretty great.
Actually, no, never mind.
I'd rather they have a non-fossil Dodo Bird pokemon so that it could be a pure "normal" type without any flying moves and that'll be the joke since it's a FLIGHT-LESS bird.
>>27536329
>you will never have a pet dodo
they would have been god tier pets
All I want is a platybelodon Pokèmon. Maybe a dimetrodon would be cool too, or a monster crocodile. Why isn't there a Saltie Pokèmon yet?
I hope they don't "stick to the source material" or whatever when it comes to fossils and Hawaii. Give me my Rock/Electric or Rock/Dark raptor.

for anyone who's curious
>The oldest of the Hawaiian islands is Kauai, of the archipelago's northwest. Kauai preserves lava flows that formed slightly more than five million years ago.[2] No non-avian dinosaur fossils have ever been found in Hawaii because the volcanic activity responsible for their creation did not begin until after their extinction.[3] Hawaii therefore has rocks of both the wrong age and type to preserve dinosaur fossils.[4] Most of Hawaii's animal fossil record consists of marine life. At times during the Quaternary, sea levels were higher than they are today. Organisms that once lived on these higher seafloors are now fossilized and exposed on the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, and Maui.[2] The islands' sparse local fossil record is dominated by corals and mollusks.[3] The Waianae coast of Oahu preserves Pleistocene reef communities including organisms like algae, coral, foraminiferans, and molluscs. Hawaii's terrestrial fossil record includes Quaternary bird remains preserved in sand dunes and sinkholes.[2] Additionally, fragmentary plant remains have been preserved in some of the volcanic deposits of Oahu.[4]

Cranidos/Rampardos are based off of the Pachycephalosaurus. Pachycephalosaurus is native to North America , not Hokkaido. Sinnoh is based off of Hokkaido.
