Closest i ever got was back in the day when there was just 150. Never got the trade evolutions because of having no friends. Never got the game exclusive pokemon because of no money to buy botb cartriges.

I did it in Gen V, but I released most of the unevolved forms. Now I have to rebreed for baby mon, but I think I'll wait until Sun and Moon so I can see what I want to give priority to, no use in breeding something now only to find out Gen VII gave it something better.
