First version was yellow, played the fuck out of gen 1 and 2 as a kid, but now that I'm older I can't help but only play gen 1 ironically and I can't stomach playing gen 2 at all anymore.

Gen 5 is as high as it is entirely because of B2W2.

6 was nice.
3 and 2 has good replayability.
1 is okay, far from perfect.
5 had awful design and really went in a bad direction from the formula.
4 had a disgusting number of legendaries, started "muh origins" wars because of retconning, and was slow as fuck. HGSS was the only good that came from it.

I like HGSS a LOT more than Gen 5 and maybe Gen 3 but not enough to say it redeemed the DPPt part of Gen 4.

7 looks super promising so far bit still way too early to judge.

BW is my favorite Pokémon game by far. HGSS boosts my gen 4 ranking because those were the best remakes but I didn't really care for DPP. Gen 7 looks like it might end up my second favorite if some leaks end up true.

Also born in 92 if that matters.

Gen 1 is the purest pokemon experience.

Gen 2 did a great job of expanding the mechanics of the previous gen.

While gen 3 introduced as much good as it did bad, and some of it's problems were fixed in Emerald.

Gen 4 is the most fun I've had in pokemon.

Gen 5 would be my favorite if not for the linear world.

Gen 6 somehow managed to be both congested and barebones at the same time. That aside, it is still pretty good.

Gen 7 shows crazy promise, but I'm afraid it's gonna be the shortest of the mainline games. Despite this, I feel it'll still be a lot of fun, like every pokemon game has been.

I enjoyed BW and BW2 too much after hating them and everything not gen 1 or 2 related. Now around 5 or 6 of my favorite pokemon are gen 5 mons.

Gen 4 had great games too, save for DP. And no one should forget the physical/special split.

Gen 2 is comfy, had great sprites and powerful nostalgia. Held items were a nice addition however sparse they were.

Gen 3 had a great region, but I can't say I care too much about the dex. Abilities are fantastic.

Gen 1 is gen 1. Take it or leave it.

Why talk about gen 6? Megas are alright. Amie is cute as fuck.

Messing with the formula, fully 3D, expanded amie, good pokemon, variant species, motherfucking alolan exeggutor and a beautiful looking region.
