>Major genwun pandering in Gen 6, not to mention an abundance of Kanto megas
>Now we're getting Alolan forms of Kanto Pokemon
How does /vp/ feel about the fact that, like it or not, we WILL get another Kanto retread game in the next 10 years?

Just make gen 8 set in a neo-Kanto with new Pokemon. It'll give the anime an excuse for Ash to take on the Indigo League again.
>>27499766
I'll be fine if they let you use the later evolutions of Gen I Pokemon. ORAS allowed us to use later-Gen evolutions of Pokemon in the Hoenn Dex.

I wouldn't mind. I mean, would anyone? I'd especially like it if they set it in Kanto after the original games, change up the gyms, add newer Pokémon, update the regional dex, etc. Just adding evos and babies of Kanto Pokémon and the ones from gen 2 that can be found in Kanto would be enough, probably.

If they change up everything while still keeping the geographic locations the same and change the Pokemon diversity I'd be down for it. My biggest complaint is the Pokemon diversity. Do it like gen 5 where there were new mons in every single area.

I'd love a flipped Gen II, you start in Kanto and the post-game is Johto

>if they make it not Kanto, I'd like it!
Having another region to explore (although old) is fine to me. And Kanto means Johto as well.

I'd enjoy a straight remake, but I'd prefer a new adventure set in Kanto in the current timeline that S/M take place in. Sorta like BW2 where it's the same basic region with some differences. It'll appeal to the nostalgiafags but also not isolate people who are fucking sick of Gen I pandering, because it can still be a new game in its own right, and can get away with sprinkling some post-Gen I pokemon into the regional dex.

Well what else are they gonna do, remake fucking GenIV?
>>27499766
>remake Kanto
>you can go to pre-GenII events Johto in post-game
>you can travel to the Sevii islands fleshed out this time
>from the Sevii Islands you can travel to the Alola region
>travel up Mt Silver and face some new legendary Pokemon and once you catch or defeat it the end credits roll and it places you back in your room implying the legendary killed you and your team up there leaving your spirit to battle the next trainer to come along
Neat.
How about they DON'T remake anything, and just release the third version of S/M with major improvements or just S/M2?
Then they can remake gen 1 for the NX to bolster sales from late adopters.

>Kanto + Johto combined
>you can chose which region you start in
>After you make it to Goldenrod or Safron, you can travel in between the regions freely
>the gyms are level scaling, so you can challenge them in any order, from any region
>can challenge the Elite Four's so long as you have 8 badges
>following Pokemon
A man can dream
Kanto a good 10-15 years later makes more sense. If SM is after XY and Lance, and Green are indeed in the game, it would make sense for it to take place in a Kanto with these older characters. We already are a good 8 years after RGBY in the timeline, add 2 for SM and have them take place coccurently. Shut down some gyms, add a Unova 2 sized region expansion in the north and you have a great basis for the game.
