You realize that Jojo is one of the most popular manga series in Japan and gets referenced a fuck ton, right? Jojo was even referenced in CC2's Naruto games as Asuma, whose seiyuu voiced OVA Star Platinum, would yell ORAORA whenever he does a barrage of punches. Liking it or finding references to Jojo in other Japanese media isn't a tumblr or Reddit thing.

Believe it or not Jojo used to get a lot of love on 4Chan before the anime days. A loved series that becomes ultra popular tends to catch a lot of heat on 4Chan just because Reddit/tumblr/MAL ended up liking their anime. Just look at OnePunchMan as it's in the same boat as Jojo. Both OPM and Jojo are good series that only needed a good adaptation to become mainstream as they already had everything else.

The only exception is Beserk, but Berserk has never had a good anime. If it did, it'd be up there with OPM and Jojo.
