Many Safari Zone Pokemon also existed in the region themselves, or already appear wild in other regions.

An example would be Marill in Johto Safari Zone, but also Mt Mortar. Most likely found and bred in the Safari Zone so they wouldn't go extinct

I never considered where the starters would be beyond "must be really off the path".

Like how the map shows that you're at Indigo Plateau, but there's this whole chunk of space you can see that is north of the Pokemon League, and who knows what else is beyond before you're even close to another mapped region.

With that image, i literally just picked out the pokemon that couldn't be found in the wild in the region/gen they were introduced for, so i didn't see any reason to exclude the starters which fit that description just as well as all the other pokes

Starters are specials because of the fact they're still games. You need to know when to distinguish theories about the pokemon world with its game data restrictions. It's the reason you can find TMs on random routes and can catch one-of-a-kind legendaries in different games.

Anyone else think it's weird that they showed off two lines of Ice Alola mon? Sandshrew/Sandslash and Vulpix/Ninetails. They didn't show Eggsecute. Will he be the same? Why would Eggsecute be the same if Sandshrew and Vulpix aren't. Why did they use TWO Ice Pokemon to show off the Alola Topical region, rather than the crowd favorite Vulpix and another, more tropical mon, like said Scyther?

Even if they are native to their region, they're still from an unknown area, which could easily be the same case with for example slugma or beldum

I went by in-game explanations, it does leave some holes, but so long as we don't really have anything better than assumptions to go on, i prefer to base it all on one reasoning instead of making rules for exceptions that could easily be disregarded later

While I like the idea of Safari pokemon being from elsewhere, I don't think they're universally from Alola.

For example, Dratini is in the zone, and it can be found in the Dragon's Den in Johto.

I don't think we should assume that they're all from Alola, or that they'll all be different.

Not everyone wants the best performing Pokemon stats wise. I like Scyther's design and green/fast aesthetic. Scirzor is like the opposite. Why can't you accept that people have different tastes than you and don't want OU everything? Sad.
