What surprised me the most is that I am actually excited for this game.

All the new stuff is great. I love igloo Sandshrew, Gumshoos makes me want to actually use the regional vermin, Minior is a qt and might be in my top 20 favs depending on how it goes... I love it all. I'm also really glad we got a bird of paradise mon, we've needes one for a few gens now.

The whole variant idea is so great, I hope they will use it's potential well.

If we have less than 60 Alolan variants from different gens I'll be really disappointed

I'm in the same boat as you with Oricorio. I'm torn between those two forms. My favorite reveal has to be the new Alola forms, but my favorite new Pokemon released is for sure Oricorio, who is also my favorite for gen 7 next to Wimpod and Mimikyu. I am so hype for these games.

Alola Ninetales easily. I'm more excited for these variants than any of the new pokemon. Here's hoping there's an Alola Dragonite.

Everything about today's reveal was amazing. I'm on the Oricorio best bird hype train. Lurantis looks great, Mudbray is cute and shows that Mudsdale will have high stats hopefully, Minior is unique and well executed, and the Alolan forms look terrific. Z moves look like an interesting addition, HM's are BTFO, and with the confirmation of the starter evolutions I was right all along. I feel like one of the few people that like all three of them.

Sure there's a good chance that the trials are, in essence, reskinned gym leaders, but there's also a chance that it will be more like other JRPGs (or, like the Sevii Islands plot) with side quests and shit.

Runners up are variants, rideable Pokemon not looking terrible (and possibly replacing HMs), and this nigga. I really liked this reveal.

Getting a sweet new Mantis mon was a close second, and Alola variants are third.

Other than Entermaid almost certainly being real now I like

I'm loving just about everything from Gen VII except Togedemaru.

Between all the unique concepts they're trying out, based designs like Gumshoos, Vikavolt, Alola Ninetales, and Mimikyu, and all-around good looking features fleshed out from XY, I can safely say that my hype has tripled overnight with these reveals.

I even like all three starter evolutions this time around, which I haven't done since Gen IV
