It all depends on stats, evos, as well as new moves. Would suck if it has great Sp. Att but stuck with shit moves.

Depends on what boosting moves it gets. Rock Polish and Calm Mind seem reasonable, so I'm hopeful.

the description gives you a good idea. the pokemon starts with better defenses and is protected from status, and then at half health it gets more offensive capabilities and less defense

I'm struggling to see how it can attack with flying moves. What could it possibly learn? Power Gem ain't exactly a gem of a move either.
