I think its fair to say that it's designed to make fun of the fire/fighting meme. Looks like one, but it's not just to mess with the fanbase.

Imagine if someone knew of the fire/fighting bullshit but not of the leaks. Now imagine them picking Litten and evolving them to Luchatiger, seeing the design of it before its typing. Imagine their intense anger and rage until they look at the tiger's typing. That would be the greatest meta joke from Gamefreak.

I'm still trying to figure out how the belt exactly works, how it's illustrated makes it look like it's just fire, which makes it kinda odd for some reason. Like, is it coming from the fur around its waist?

If it isn't Fire/Fighting I'm not going to main it. Fire/Fighting is literally the best typing ever.
