Chances are you're going to beat all 4 island kahunas throughout the game, then get swept away for some plot related stuff, then finally return to have an elite 4 type competition with all of them back to back, where they will have more/stronger pokemon than they did the first time.

I did it my first Y playthrough when Super Training got unlocked.

It was a mistake. Playing with Amie was also a mistake. XY has so many fucking traps that can completely ruin your playthrough by trivializing what little difficulty Pokémon has, and you won't find out until it's too late unless you looked up all the information before starting your playthrough.
