If they can pull enough defensive stats to avoid being killed instantly, it would be awesome.

Since they already stated it's slower, I guess they will give those points to Def/Sp.Def.
Probably Defense solely to look after Ground as well.

i love the snowshrews design but i wish it was ground/ice

the complete type reversal seems kind of drastic...also bad typing. vulpix could have been fire/ice.

to me completely changing the typing seems like too much.

It seems more like at an attempt to get those in the go crowds. I'm not against it, I actually think it's interesting. The typings are odd, though.
