I basically just started. Hoenn is done except for Jirachi and I think I'm at around 200. I dropped the ball on the event legendaries, missed all of them except Shaymin.

I have a Jirachi. FC in Name.

Worked on it from fucking January-June. Got to about 550. It was the longest I had ever gone playing pokemon without getting tired of it.

Stopped in July because I found a DS game for cheap at gamestop and now I have no willpower to keep going. The game was fucking Bowsers Inside Story.

I usually just go for the gender differences that are noticeable or I'm a fan of. Keep the one you like in the Dex order and keep the other in a box with the ones you dont.

I started a while ago, together with a practically Pokemon game marathon. Collecting every regional Pokemon and transfer them over to ORAS. I hope some programs for mass transferring are allowed, fuck Pale Park and shit
Finished with Kanto in Firered recently, now playing Soulsilver. I realized once again how shitty it is that you cannot catch most Johto Pokemon until late game.

Complete except for an extra Hoopa for alt. form. Just waiting for that Volcanion release.

Didn't bother with gender differences except for the obvious ones.

For one, XYORAS contain all pokemon between them with mirage spots and friend safaris. If you want to transfer from older gens, you can use the Poke Transporter app (comes with Bank) to transfer gen 5 -> gen 6, Poke transfer for gen 4 -> gen 5, and pal park gen 3 -> gen 4.

Gts is useful. Put up Pokemon that evolve from trading such as Machoke and Scyther. pokedextracker.com is useful for tracking your dex progress

GTS is your friend for version exclusives and some legends
With X/Y and OR/AS you can actually get a lot of pokemon without any trading
/vp/ is your friend to get the event mons
If you need grinding the restaurants in X/Y are great, and breeding is great in X/Y as well
OR/AS is good for legendaries in mirage spots

For the GTS you can also deposit breeding remains with good IVs, people enjoy those
