Mallow is confirmed for be found on the second island (Akala) and not on Melemele, though

No, Mallow, Kiawe, and Lana are all on the second island, which is Akala Island. Sophocles is on the third island, the one with the ice mountain. You can see in the trailers that he is inside some type of observatory which is right behind the ice mountain.

The Japanese site confirmed there are more than just 4 Captains. There will probably be three on each one.

I definitely believe they'll have multiple trial captains each island,depends how many they want on them....maybe the final two types will be on the artificial island,as a double battle before you enter the league....what if we get a returning kalos league with a couple new members from alola

I was thinking about it. Three options: 4-4-5-5, as you said, 3-4-5-6, or 4-4-4-4 and 2 types just don't have trials.
