>when you realize alola forms means another 70-mon pokedex
>>27470294
>wanting new pokemon when you can have variation in the already existing pokemons
>>27470336
>wanting to use the same pokemon over and over again and not new pokemon
>>27470294
Why would it even mean that
>when you realize Alola variants are just as interesting as new mons and Alola is going to have more than 70 anyway
>when you realize Alola variants don't take up a team slot like Megas
>>27470375
they're separate forms and not new pokemon
>>27470294
At least they're better designed that those hideous Mega forms.
>>27470294
>new type, some never seen before
>new moveset
>different look
>different stats
>NO IT'S NOT A NEW POKEMON BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO SAY IT'S NEW
I guess all eveelutions are just one dex entry now.
>>27470294
Ice Vulpix and Sandshrew are basically new Pokemon
Unlike Megas they're essentially new species and they stay this way forever
>>27470387
>>27470436
>Vulpix except all the fire-type moves replaced with their ice-type equivalent
HOLY SHIT THANK YOU FOR THE LITERAL REHASHES GAMEFREAK!
>>27470294
But we've already seen a dickload of new evo lines, we're at least getting 100 new.
>>27470436
Eeveelutions are evos, Alola forms are not.
>>27470294
I'm fine with this. The problem with gen 6 having 70 Pokemon is that they sacrificed potential new Pokemon in favor of shitty megas, but regional variants actually look cool so I'm fine with that.
>>27470430
Happy that megas are getting BTFO. Idk what GF was thinking.
>>27470472
>yfw both for have access to eachother's move pools at all times
>>27470387
>don't take up a team slot
>Vulpix takes one
>Eggsecutor takes another
>sandshrew takes another
>3 slots left
>>27470294
>mfw there is still hope for quagsire/wooper variants
>>27470798
Wow how about you try not using the new pokemon you don't like? Is this complicated? Jesus.
>>27470692
>megas are gone
>leaks were real
One step forward. One step back.
>>27470509
they are real evos. Literally.
Honestly? I'll be fine with 75 new Pokemon this time if we get something like 50 variants of old ones
I love the concept so much
>>27470871
Who said anything about me using pokemon I don't like? All I did was call him out on his flawed logic. THINK for once in your life.
>>27470798
congrats you did a math
>>27470912
The Alolan forms are regional variants. A Vulpix from Kanto will not evolve into a Alolan Ninetales.
>>27470592
The problem for me is that I actually like a lot of megas but because they couldnt be wild encounters the region felt really lacking of new pokemon. This fixes it, plus they're endearing like Mega Slowbro
>>27470912
They're forms, not new dex entries.
>>27470974
Which means the other anon could not do a math.
>>27470919
So the same as megas.
Woop de woop.
>>27470934
Jesus Christ you're an idiot, what he meant was that you aren't constrained to using only one Alola form per team, unlike Megas which you can only activate once.
Fine by me, those new forms are practically new Pokemon anyways, the dex number just isn't being comically inflated.
>>27471425
>change the color of pokemon
>"wow, it's practically a new pokemon"
>>27471023
>>27470978
He meant in the real world sense anon
>>27471358
Not only that, but almost every comp team has one unless you play RU or lower.
>Im fine with having only 20 new pokemon!
1 month later:
>WHY IS THERE UNDER 100 NEW POKEMON AGAIN,POKEMON IS DEAD REEEEE
You guys always do the same thing.
>>27471457
>pokemon with different look and movepool, possibly stats
>same pokemon
yeah ok
>>27471457
>the color
>and type
>and stats
>and movepool
there's more difference between the formes than between the local rodent of each region
>>27470798
I think they meant you can have more than one variant on your team at once, as opposed to megas, which you are only allowed one at a time per battle.
>>27471609
>>27471638
>change the color
>change one stat so it's 10 higher or lower than the original
>change all moves of one type to their equivalent of another type (hint hint flamethrower and ice beam are the same move faggot)
I'd rather have a 70 mon Dex with good mons rather than a 200 dex with a ton of crappy filler.
It's a much better compromise than having the megas to tell the truth.
Also if you can cross breed between regional variants than it works wonders for the meta-game.
As a matter of fact they should retcon the megas immediately into either legit evolutions or regional variants right now. It will save a lot of trouble in the future installments.
>>27471178
No, because you can only have one Mega on a team. And there were like five Megas you could get during the main story in XY. Variants is already turning out better.
>>27472159
>change ability
yeah, that's how they make pokemons each gen, by tweaking roles and tropes used in older games. See : regional bird, regional roddent, version specific duos, semi legendary dragon, and so on.
Its gonna be around 90 you guys, most of today's stuff was confirmed in a leak.
>>27470336
Yes, absolutely. Do you have autism or something?
I love the new formes, haven't been this hype in a long time
and i'm not a genwunner or anything, i think they're interesting and open up a lot of possibilities. Besides, they have new types, different moves, and different stats, so they're like new pokemon anyway
>regional grimer/muk made of lava
GF PLEASE
>>27472954
Cause its not like theres already a lava pokemon
>I wanted species variants and variants persist after battles and can be played with in amie
