They are literally fucking re-typing Pokemon now. Just giving unique typings to old Pokemon, instead of creating brand new Pokemon.
Let that sink in.
Except that they're also creating new Pokemon.
>>27468383
The official website is categorizing these as new mons, too. We are about to have another small dex. Most of the new mons have already been revaled.
>>27468383
Isn't that what Scyzor basically is?
>>27468383
so what? as long as there are a lot of new pokemon that should never matter. you are just a drama king
>>27468383
It's not like they're just taking old mons and recoloring them. They're making slight redesigns too.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speciation
No anon, they're coming back to reality.
>>27468383
>They are literally fucking re-typing Pokemon now
Didn't that happen in Gen 2 AND Gen 6?
It's realistic and snow Vulpix is cute so I like it. I was the main person posting about Delta leaks this whole time but I was ignored and laughed at by the majority of /vp/ because they were obsessed with no gyms and Poppmaid.
It's a lot like Delta Species. I'd be far more okay with it if they hadn't picked the most unoriginal variants possible.
>>27468383
>Let that sink in.
People are actually feverishly defending it.
Let THAT sink in.
>>27468536
About as much differences as the Genies have.
>>27468449
fuck
>>27468383
>instead of creating brand new Pokemon
But they're creating new Pokemon too. We've seen a fuckload already. What's your REAL problem with the Alola forms, OP?
>>27468383
>(You)
Fuck off, stop posting this threads Unovabortion.
Giving it some thought, I don't think this is such a bad thing.
Every Gen the dex gets a little more bloated, and its unsustainable. We should still get new pokemon as well and we are, but new forms filling niches (gamewise and designwise) is a good move.
>>27468383
XY 2.0 confirmed. We're only getting 60-70 new Pokemon.
>we want Delta Pokemon in the games!
>Delta Pokemon get added
>WOW GAMEFREAK LITERALLY RESKINS LAZY ASSHOLES MAKE SOMETHING NEW
Explain to me why reddit is worse than this place
>>27468383
>They're just making new Pokemon and leaving old Pokemon to rot
>They're just paying attention to old Pokemon and pandering to nostalgia with megas
>THEY'RE JUST MAKING NEW POKEMON AND GIVING OLD POKEMON SOME UPDATES TO KEEP THINGS FRESH
The last time they tried to make all new Pokemon I didn't like or care about most of the designs. On the other hand, I love my new ice fox and will protect her as if she was mychild
>>27468383
That's the thing anon, we have both.
The variations people have wanted for years and new pokemon.
>>27468543
Now Pokemon feels like a mess with magical metamorphosis evolution and "real" evolution. And some Pokemon have Mega Evolutions. And then there's also Primal Reversion.
I never thought I'd say this, but I think Pokemon could use a reboot.
>>27468543
>marill is not a water pikachu
they maybe going back to reality, just not the reality of pokemon
>>27468383
Wait until we see how many Pokemon we get in the dex. If these don't detract from that and we get a decent amount, then they are harmless, interesting ways to expand on concepts like Shellos and other alternate forme pokemon with mons that were made before the concept.
>>27468383
What is your problem?
>le make a fuss out of everything OP
what do you mean instead of creating brand new pokemon
because they are clearly also making brand new pokemon
you babies comlain about fucking everything
>>27468675
Pokemon was always like that from day one.
Also if you find this confusing you might as well kill yourself because you'll never amount to anything.
How dare they listen to consumers!
>>27468383
Delta form > Megas
>oh no theyre creatively making 20 year old monsters relevant again
>>27468803
anything > megas
>>27468649
>we want Delta Pokemon in the games!
You're acting like there was some major push to get Deltas added, when in reality it was one or two people on /vp/ a few months ago.
What does delta form mean?
But they're adding a lot of new mons too.
What the fuck do you want?
>>27468851
More likely the Pokemon variation fan art trend from last year influence Game Freak.
>>27468383
the fact that you posted scizor is amazingly ironic
scizor has the same BST has scyther, just a different type with a different stat distribution aka EXACTLY what this is
>>27468480
Exactly what scizor is, same bst and all
>>27468383
The idea is inspired by Island speciation, a phenomenon in which island species mutant at a faster and in more extreme ways than mainland species.
>>27468900
Its a reference to the TCG which has a card set where pokemon were wildly different types due to some radiation or radio signals or something in the lore.
>>27468383
would you rather 70 new pokemon and nothing else or 70 new pokemon and 30 kinda cool reskins?
gamefreak are dead set and having less mons per gen either way, might as well get some potentially cool reskins instead of fuck all
>>27469244
I'll take a small number of new mons and interesting reskins of old mons over shitty megas and creatively bankrupt "new" ones that serve only as filler.
Just the other day people were calling Exeggcute and Exeggutor shit. Now all of a sudden they like it.
>>27469244
Honestly how long can pokemon last if they stopped putting in random pokemon/reskins?
>>27469515
>I'll take a small number of new mons and interesting reskins of old mons over shitty megas and creatively bankrupt "new" ones that serve only as filler.
Congratulations! Thats what we're getting!
>the variations are too different! Just make them new Pokemon!
>the variations aren't different enough! They're just recolors!
We've asked for years for this, but now we have them and everyone's bitching about them. Fuck off
>>27468649
No matter where you go there will be more than one people at any given time with different opinions. And those who complain about banal shit like you :^)
So we Yo-kai Watch now?
Anyone have a link to the video where some furry sperged about this game because of muh IV
>>27468383
> wahhh wahhh gamefreak did a thing i personally don't like :(((((
>>27468596
> oh my god i can't handle this how do people even think differently than me what is wrong with earth i wanna kill
u guys :((((((
>>27469852
Nah Shitkai Watch has them as separate Yokai.
>>27468383
These are better
Your still going to have nostalgia fags whinning about their old Pokemon changing drastic types
>>27468449
I love this meme
>>27468383
It's ironic that you'd use Scizor as your OP as it's literally a retyped Scyther.
>>27468383
I kinda like the whole "old Pokemon are adapting to new locations" sort of thing
Reminds me a little of Monster Hunter
>>27468383
Kinda humorous that you posted Scizor, it was doing Alola forms before it was cool.
>>27468383
lets be realistic alternate evos are better than megas
>>27469852
gross
I hope they straight up abandon megas.
Like, mega stones cannot be found in Alola. No mega bracelet.
(Alola) forms are a much more creative way of bringing back life to underpowered/forgotten pokemon. And follows evolution (real evolution) a lot better, fits with pokemon theme, rather than straight ripping off digimon.
>>27470209
Of course. In all honesty they should have done this instead of cross gens to begin with.
>>27470279
They aren't going to abandon megas anon for the last time.
As long as they exist as forms related to the mon themselves they're staying.
>>27470279
>rather than straight ripping off digimon.
Be honest, you've never touched digimon in your life.
>>27468996
Woah, I learned a new biology stuff today.
So why not human in Hawaii considered island speciation? They could have ruled the world kek. They can mutate at a faster rate.
>>27470469
Could you reduce the retard by 50%?
>>27470279
I think a mix of both would be best.
Some pokemon, like Beedrill and Pidgeot got a new lease on life with their megas that I don't think new forms would have done.
But, say, Hydreigon doesn't need a mega. Or Dragonite. But a new form could be interesting.
>>27470551
Would be a good idea if already powerful Pokemon didn't have megas like Lucario, Garchomp, Gengar, etc.
>>27468383
They should've done this in the first place instead of introducing megas and shit like Rhyperior
>>27470623
>Would be a good idea if already powerful Pokemon didn't have megas like Lucario, Garchomp, Gengar, etc.
Yeah, but at least they can not do any more that don't need it. We'll see I guess.
I want totraina Snowslash
>>27470279
This guy says hi
(You)
regional variants are not even a new concept to the series
they are just actually fleshing it out now
>>27470279
Yeah I don't think an ice/steel typing is gonna help out Sandslash a lot
>ember
>mach punch
>>27471105
Concept has always trumped metagame when it comes to them making new pokemon ( or forms in this case) though
It'll be fine for in game use
>>27468383
that's even better, instead of new shitmons we get a different version of the good ones that are half forgotten
>>27470944
STOP HATING WHAT I LIKE
>>27468851
>>27468921
That and the massive amount of people using randomizers to give pokemon new types in roms
>>27468383
I know anon! Its great!
I love to see the world and creatures they created getting more fleshed out. Just like there are arctic or savannah-dwelling animals, Pokémon finally get some more variations. We dont need to have hundreds and hundreds of more new names.
This is what we always deserved.
Im looking forward!
>>27468383
pokemon are adapting to new climates and areas giving them new appearances, types and abilities that allow them to better survive in these new areas.
this is literally how nature works and I'm happy pokemon is giving this concept a shot.
>>27468383
Ice Fairy Ninetales and Giant Exeggutor are the best designs from this new gen.
I'm more than ok with it.
>>27472552
Touche
>>27468383
>because animals don't adapt to their environments in nature
