>Useless moves general
Thats it, share the moves you think are shit from a casual and competitive point of view
>Mud Sport
>Water Sport

yfw there actually is a portuguese """"artist"""" who has a song called mr gay (stylised mister gay)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vhl4qES9eCw
Leech Life
heal block
Quash
splash
and uh, supersonic
Smelling Salts
>>27454329
Muddy Water
Accuracy is just a little too low to be usable.
But the secondary effect is decent.
>>27454329
Anything that starts with Fury and doesn't end in "Cutter"
Vacuum Wave.
>>27455487
> Literally just a sp. attack version of Mach Punch.
It's not useless, it just suffers from not being on the movelists any Pokemon that could actually benefit from it.
Aside from the obvious Splash
Rage Powder
>>27455462
Literally no reason at all for this shitty move to require a turn to charge
>>27455657
Rage powder is useless in singles only
>>27455385
I would say Supersonic is just a "weak" Confuse Ray for low level Pokémon, desu.
>Synchronoise
Can only damage Pokemon who share the same type as the user, most of them resist the move anyway.
>>27456515
>Synchronoise Umbreon
>>27455457
It gets a surprising amount of use on triples rain teams.
>>27455648
The only pokemon who has it that could use it is fucking Lucario. The other mons who learn it? Hitmons, Toxicroak, and scyther. Jesus, did GF just forget about it?
>>27456592
>not running Miracle Eye Synchronoise Umbreon
It's like you love losing.
>>27455385
do you just namefag because you want hate? I don't understand why you do this, please enlighten me.
metronome
Growl
>>27455385
Splash is pretty useful actually. They can't have Pokemon know ---/---/---/--- because you couldn't select a move and it would lock the game in battle. Splash is for when they want a Pokemon to have no moves.
>>27456637
Croagunk in little cup makes use of it.
>>27456700
>not liking metronome
>>27456812
you seem mad

After You
I don't play competitively that often, but it seems like Leech seed is almost useless in game.
>>27454329
>Focus Punch
>gets hit
>can't move
>can't use Power Herb
>>27456837
>not using a fast after-you-er in doubles with a slow, hardhitting mon to wreck face
>>27456637
nasty plot infernape friendo
>>27456659
no you do which is why you run that set. I'll just stick to Stallbreon
>>27456736
Nigga are you thinking of struggle?
>>27457755
You'd need to transfer it up from gen 4 amici.
Name one time your Pokemon learned MUD SPORT and you thought "yeah, that could possibly be a tiny bit useful in any situation that could ever happen!"
>>27457396
substitute and being good at the game makes it useful
>>27457888
>not playing on showdown
what are you gay?
>>27458150
>pokemon learns it
>it's already immune to electric moves
>petal blizzard
>every mon that learna it has middling attack at best and there are a number of physical grass-types that could really use it
>Ghost type using Curse
I don't understand why anyone would do this. 50% of your Pokemon's HP now in exchange for 25% of the opponent's HP at the end of every turn? If you aren't doing more than 25% damage with you regular moves then you need to switch Pokemon, not give up half of your HP for a guaranteed 4HKO.
>>27454329
Frustration, simply having the Pokemon with Frustration in your party is going weaken the move as its friendship increases while you walk about. There's no reason to use it over Return.
>>27459593
It's objectively better than Return until a point though.
>>27459467
>Curse continues damages you even if you switch out so long as the user remains alive
Would it be useful then? I only see it being on Unburden Drifilblim but that's better than nothing.
>metal sound
>>27456821
says the guy triggered by tripcodes :^)
>>27459467
I think functionally Ghost Curse is for giving wilds and AI trainers a way to harass players in the campaign and screw them over.
Because in a serious fight it has no use but it can sure as hell be a pain at that point.
>>27459467
Ghost Curse is also kinda scary in a nuzlocke
>>27459634
Your Pokemon start off with a base happiness of 70(in most cases, even if traded) that makes Frustration even objectively worse than Strength unless you specifically go out of your way to make your Pokemon unhappy.
Once your Pokemon transitions from 70 Happiness to 128, Return becomes better. And you get something like 4 happiness per 255 steps and 5 happiness per level up, so that doesn't take long at all.
>>27458453
Every fucking time
Leech life and astonish
Powder
Flatter
Most early game moves, shit like tackle, growl, leer... (but its understandable)
Quash
Snatch
Work up
The sport moves
Land's Wrath has no reason to exist
Fury cutter
All shitty event moves like celebrate and hold hands
etc.
>>27459467
>Not using Curse Harvest Trevenant
pleb
>>27459735
>ditto
>>27461269
Snatch can actually be very fun to use in doubles
>>27461359
Fun=/=good
That's why metronome should be counted, its fun as fuck, but it's a garbage move.
>>27459924
Astonish is weak but at least it has a good flinch chance for early-game shenanigans.
Leech Life is truly shit, though. I never understood why it had such low base power, especially in gen I where it was one of the only moves super effective against Psychic-types, but it was still barely stronger than Tackle even if used against a Psychic-type.
Constrict is also needlessly weak. It's literally the weakest damaging move and its secondary effect is also only a 10 percent chance.
>>27461269
some mons have no better boosting moves than work up (lol m-pidgeot)
>>27454329
hold hands
it is literally useless
>>27455487
On the other hand, it's a very useful move in PMD.
Water Sport should lower the power of Fire, Water, Ice and Steel moves.
Mud Sport should lower the power of Electric, Poison and Rock moves (including Sneaky Pebbles)
Then addSteel Sport.
Hold Back. Renamed False Swipe that only 3 pokemon get, two of which aren't named Smeargle. Event exclusive too
>>27461364
it's a gimmicky move. That's not bad because it has uses. At least it can be use somewhere.
I still wonder why Gamefreak still make lot of move only useful in double/triple battle when most of the in-game battle are still 1vs1
