The team you fight has SLIGHTLY better reasoning behind their plan, though its still pretty silly. Contests have a new couple of characters to give them a little more life. Steven does a bit more as well.

I'd personally go with which team you want to battle more if you don't have any version exclusives you really want.

I've played both. Maxie's reasoning was still pretty silly. Though I actually ended up liking AS more BECAUSE Archie was just more fun as a character to go up against.

Don't be that way anon, they've both got their good points. I just liked that the way Archie acted towards you was a different dynamic then all of the other Team Leaders thus far, where as Maxie went for the fairly common "Stay out of our way child, oh I see you're a powerful trainer, but next time you won't be so lucky, etc" shtick that most of them pull until they go full evil.
