It's a bit simple, and I feel like the real ones feathers are going to look like some sort of suit with it's little leaf bowtie. That being said I would be more than ok with this, looks pretty cool and I'm pretty sure I did see someone say they were returning to simpler designs.

I liked Rowlet until I realised it's impossible to make a good looking evo without it just being bigger, which Game Freak doesn't do anymore.
Shame, it'll probably evolve into some ugly e621bait.

Heracross and Mega Heracross are two different beetle species. Oddish's line is all different plants too. Wingull and Pelipper are obviously different species too. Evolutions don't have to stay the same real-life animal species.

You do realize the fake artist who made this leak had all the information of Rowlet and could of easily came up with an archer? Saying it fits in with the theme just because it matches up doesn't prove anything. In fact they're are more holes in the evolution themes then they're are points. Rowlets evo make sense to an extent but Lucha Litten and Poppmaid are literally streches. Sorry anon

Rowlet shoots sharp feathers out, and is called the Grass Quill pokemon, in which the word quill can be related to arrows. No wonder he drew an archer concept, he has all this information, of course he's going to fucking use it all! Honestly I can't wrap my head around why people believe these are real, liking the bad designs is one thing but pleading their realness when it's more likely to be fake is one big problem

Wow how'd you guess? And no I'm not using my opinion to judge credibility, I'm using common sense and information we have on the starters so far. And I'm not the only one who reads the information and looks at the leaks and comes up with the conclusion that the traits that they begin with don't resemble at all to what the concepts show. But yes I am one of those people who think the real starter evos will be a Grass flying owl, a Quadrupedal Fire tiger and a Large Sea Lion that uses water balloons. But what do I know it's not like these concepts make more sense then your precious leaks right? ;)

Not that guy, but he's right. Robinhoot at least has the theme of using projectile feathers like Rowlet does.
What does Tigermask have to do with oily fur, hairballs, and a cool, collected personality? Where is his flaming back that's present on Litten, and why does it turn to a belt?
What does a singing mermaid have to do with Popplio's acrobatic skills? His ability to use bubbles as balloons? There's literally no connection besides "they're both entertainers!"
Regarding that, what IS the theme between the 3 leaked starter evos? The closest thing I can think of are "performers", but that even seems to be a stretch.
The XY starters kept part of their theme throughout their lines, so why wouldn't the SM starters?

You people seem to love using the Torchic argument which I don't understand that being gen 3 and all. This is gen 7 and Gamefreak seem to love giving hints as to what the new pokemon might evolve into. Don't believe me see Rockruff, Grubbins and Wimpods website entry. That information does become apparent and more developed as they evolve, but it has to at the very least make sense.

No it does matter. But notice how Rockruffs entry hints it towards becoming a wolf when it evolves saying it howls at the moon when it's ready to evolve, or how Grubbin likes powerplants and it evolves into a battery that stores electricity and then Vikavolt that uses said electricity, and even recharges using another Charabug. The electricity theme stays apparent throughout the line. Gamefreak had already given the starters a theme, that theme is going to be incorporated one way or another as it evolves.
