How to make X/Y more fun

monotype runs make it pretty tolerable

i'm wrapping up a psychic monotype run atm

i think fairy, steel, or dragon could be interesting

Play Neo X / Eternal X. Homebrew is out for 11.0. There's really no excuse not to.

Wonderlocke or monotype runs are pretty straightforward examples. You could also try to get a bigger team, like switch your party out between 12 mons instead of the regular switch. That last one would probably work well in this gen because of the way exp share works in this gen.

I've tried playing with different starters, or not using megas. I really want to have fun with it, but it feels so empty. I'll try a monotype run, I hope that works.
