We Ingress agents call that GPS drift. And once in a while, the drift is real. We don't consider it cheating, neither does Niantic, they're used to it. Just tech limitations, you know.
Pretty much when it puts us in range of a normally out of reach portal for free, we consider it the same as an RNG crit.
We also have the "Ingress shuffle" which is running in a direction for a distance to intentionally cause the server to think we're continuing at the same speed for half a second, to induce drift for some slightly out of reach portals.
Inside buildings drift gets much worse.

Tldr: the drift is real the NIA is used to it dont worry about it

Good news, they have a function for that. It's the Battery Saver option.

I think it's the whole principle. Sure, the tracking didn't work, but there was alternative options to use to get around that-- ones people were willing to use and adapt too because they still loved the game.

Niantic has now removed that option, leaving you with a broken game with no outside option to help fix it. It's just frustration reaching peak levels.

I doubt, honestly, that they're ever going to fix the steps. Cashcow has already been milked.

What are people even spending money on? Pokeballs are easy as shit to get. Lures and incense are crap. They give you enough lucky eggs if you save them and evolve a bunch at a time. This happens to the majority of people with an Android. I was with my young nephew the other night and we ran into Grimer. I had to have "that talk" with him. It's never easy telling a young Android user about the Grimer Glitch.

Oh and a helpful tip for those of you affected by this glitch: sometimes an unfortunate high CP pokemon primed for evolution will be listed right next to the Grimer, which as we know now will cause the game to crash. All you have to do is sort the pokemon differently (from CP to alphabetical, for instance) and it will usually distance the pokemon from the Grimer. The curse doesn't have long-term effects on the adjacent pokemon, it's only there while they're next to the Grimer in your inventory. I evolved my Koffing just now by circumventing this piece of shit glitch.

I used to be able to catch almost anything under 300 or 400 cp with 1 or 2 reg balls, but now i have trouble catching pidgeys that arent even 100cp with reg balls. I almost have to use a great or ultra ball, and/or a berry, if i want to catch something
