I love the upgrade to 3-d. It's just fucking sad that they rushed xy. I despise megas though. Mainly because the fact that certain mons like Babette won't get a real evolution and permanent type combos.

it was their first foray into 3D models into a mainline pokemon game, it can only get better with newer pokemon and newer generations. Hell, all the sun/moon pokemon so far have far better looking models than the older mons.

I agree, was a shit mechanic, would have preferred just more evos and prevos of older mons, mawile's mega evolution could have simply worked as a regular evolution with some stat adjustments

But I like the 3D
I don't like megas myself but I just don't use them.
I still like XY because I like the E4 to fight through, and it's one of the more practical games to quickly breed some pokemon to move to my other games

Gen 5 was objectively the best. Just because the early route shitmons had fuckawful designs doesn't mean they were bad games. BW1 weren't very fun because they entirely restricted you to the rather terrible new mons, but BW2 are the best games in the whole series.

You can't be fucking serious. B2W2 were decent but as a whole gen 5 was the beginning of the end, as in the over-casualization of the series that lead to gen 6 being utter garbage. It started the trends of rivals stopping you on literally every route/town/city and giving you free shit to make the game easier, and constant tutorials for everything, and NPCs never having more than three pokemon until you get to the E4, and a lot of other problems that previous games just didn't have.

Platinum was the last truly great pokemon game, and arguably the most challenging (if you raise a full team, obviously).
