Why is Edgyzard way more popular than Charizard Y?

It appeals to Charizard's target demographic of edgy 12 year olds who still rate Pokemon based on how 'badass' they look.

Because of dragon type. I personally prefer Y version overall. Those arm wings seem retarted, but as retarted as shoulder spikes or whatever these things are. And it looks like a fucking Charizard.
