Aside from gen 1 nostalgia I don't understand why people care so damn match about Primeape and Pidgeot. Primeape was never in a single "real" battle and Pidgeot was nothing special either.

Pidgeot also had no personality whatsoever. Primeape's whole thing of beating up Ash might've been funny once in a while, I guess?

Not saying it wouldn't be fun to see them again, but they weren't even really characters.

Lapras is a bittersweet case, we knew from the off that it wasn't staying but it was still a shame to see it go. Kinda like Butterfree, another of Ash's Pokémon that didn't really do anything but that we have a bit of an attachment to.
