Now its an effective mixed attacker with excellent bulk and astounding speed. Mew is practicaly the only pokemon aside from arceus to which protean fits thematicaly, and the speed combined with the movepool will make it shine.

It's designed like shit. It has a common problem of new Pokemon where the shape is overly simplistic while the colors and patterns are too elaborate and inorganic, using hard lines instead of blending, like Meganium's flower. Details are just painted on instead of having actual dimension and volume, and they're too straight. Notice the roughness in Venusaur and Torterra's foliage and plant coloration. It's natural looking. Notice how Serperior's eye perfectly aligns with its pattern? And its extremely precise stripes? It looks unnatural. It also has the most simplistic head and mouth.

Meganium's eyes are cute. Serperior's eyes are repulsive, and the rabbit ears are stupid. Nothing about it even looks like a grass type other than being green.

Yes, actually, I legitimately think Ekans and Arbok were better designed than that shitty leaf-banana. If you want to see motifs of royalty done better, look at shit like Slowking or Tyrantrum. Serperior is utter garbage.

And honestly it's not even that. Gen V is one of my favorite generations, and it was around the time I got serious about competitive play. For me, personally, it holds a special place in my heart and I'm a huge fan of a handful of the designs. However, that didn't stop me from realizing that the Gen V starters were pure trash, especially Serperior.

Everybody's entitled to their own opinions though. I can see WHY somebody would like Serperior, but as another anon said. . . way too ornate for its simplistic design. Makes me cringe.

Avalugg needs Icicle Crash, that's a given.
NQ gets rock slide spam.
Steel to adapt against Seviper's poison blades, only for Seviper to counter-adapt.
Corrosion and surge are gen 7 abilities, they're on bulbapedo.
Skarm is designed to be more offensive, and roost off recoil.
100% Fire Blast, Heat Wave, Focus Blast and Dynamic Punch are pretty damn good in my onion. I wouldn't give No Guard Inferno.
For Kingdra I just thought it would be funny to combine Mega Blastoise and Megazard X. More moves maybe, I dunno.
