If Nintendo were going to do a game like this, they should use the engine from Xenoblade Chronicles X. As I was playing it, I felt it would lend itself to the world of Pokemon.

Rather than fighting aliens and flying in skells, you'd fight/capture pokemon and ride on them. You would explore a new gigantic region with your Pokemon as your party.

All types of Pokemon would be flying around. If you head to the wrong place, you could get fucked up by a legendary.

I don't know why so many people in the Pokemon fandom are against a mainline game being on a console as it would lead to the death of the handhelds. It could work and I believe if done right, could earn Nintendo a lot of money.

I'm all for this OP. I also had the idea of trainers entering your game a la Dark Souls on a console Polemon game. And I like the seamless transition into battle, I'm thinking almost something like Super Mario RPG, that way it could keep it's traditional turn based combat while still feeling like a living environment.

That's because they either make them nigh unplayable without having the handheld games or make them complete "PIKA PIKACHU AND HIS HAPPY MARKETABLE FRIENDS ON ADVENTURES xD" shit that nobody over the age of 5 would be caught dead playing.

Nintendo is rumored to be combining handheld and console with NX, so you can play it on your TV if you want. It'll probably be bigger than what we're used to with Pokemon, but don't expect it to be some big ass world where you run into caves or climb mountains and shit like Zelda or Xenoblade.
