Since I have to start again, does anyone here hack roms to give pokemon with trade evolutions etc a different way to evolve them, one that's possible to obtain alone on an emulator?

For instance, Roggenrola evolves into Boldore at 25, so I'd hack the rom and let Boldore evolve into Gigalith at 45.

I actually got to enact the shiny clause in my nuzlocke today.

If my first encounter from that route ever bites the dust I'll definitely use it. Pic related.

Trying to push through and finish my AS nuzlocke, just about to slap Dad around with Combusken.

Its hard to power through though, I've stopped and started a lot of ORAS nuzlockes after that one time I got wiped my Megagross.

In other nuzlocke matters, whats are some good potential counters for Cynthia's Togekiss in Platinum? That thing destroyed me last time I played that.

This thread is good as any. Years ago when they were released I downloaded the "freeze patched" ROMs of SoulSilver&HeartGold, but they still froze every time. So now I checked up on it again and no new ROMs were ever released. Were they never actually fixed or am I just fucking up?

I don't have much problems with the ROM of Sacred Gold I used. It still freezes from time to time or has slight bugs but just save often and you should be good

This run was going so well too but I dont think I'm getting much further.

I usually quit after a wipe, but I fear that if I want to keep this ship alive I have to make a "scouting" party with the intention of dying just to try and find as much pokemon and their moves of norman as possible.

There is a very cheap way of dealing with Wobbuffets in trainer battles, which may save you if the Pokémon you're stuck with only has attacking moves.

Throwing Pokéballs at it to waste turns until it runs out of PP. May sound stupid but from Gen 4 onwards you don't actually lose your Pokéballs from trying to steal, so it's actually pretty useful to know this is if for some reason you just want to lose a turn.

I just started my first nuzlocke yesterday on XY. Didn't play too long, just before Bug Gym. I have froakie, pansage, pidgey, and a farfetch'd that I got from trading a bunnelby I picked up. Will using the dupe clause make the run too easy? My last attempt I was flooded with Ratattas and Pidgey and that just made the run feel very stale.

I've played 3 randomizer nuzlockes in a row (Pt,HG,B2) and I have to say this mode is even easier than the main game or even normal nuzlockes. If you get a decent team the game is a joke.

Avoid getting too edgy. I can't express how much it grinds my gears when a character in a nuzlocke is built up to be really nice just so it'll be sadder when they kick the bucket. Like, wow, this character was too pure for this world! How could someone commit such tragedy! And it's even worse when one of the characters goes into vengeful edgelord mode when it's their turn to have a go.
Piss off with that shit. If you want to make a character's death more impactful, actually make it so the team's chemistry isn't as rich without them.
