So far I think you can watch it without really missing anything, perhaps Takeru's motivation fo challenge Ash, but that's that.

Its really bizarre there's going to be so little episodes left after the Flare arc ends and the end of XY itself. If we had a little more time I'd say an Elite 4 arc was a guarantee....but the lack of episodes is really disappointing. The only other way I can see it is if Pokemon gets double airings for some reason but it would eat into another shows timeslot so I guess not.

Ash going from winning a league to losing to basic trainers or wild pokemon again in the next series reeks of a BW like reset. I know he'd be using a new team again, but it still doesn't feel right.

I hope Ash's league win is either setting up for a massive overhaul of the series or Ash's eventual end.

Don't see why the fandom keeps pushing Redgy. Pokespe Red and Ash are hotblooded. Origins Red was a more humble kid, and that RBY dialogue is something that he would say. Pokespe Red and Ash wouldn't even think about using TM31. Isamu is a joke character and isn't edgy by default. None of the popular variations of Red act like that.

Speaking of different Pokemon series, it sucks that there will never be an "Electric Tales of Pikachu" in Kalos. I'd love to read a more mature XY/XYZ manga that trims the fat out of the Kalos series.

Origins Red was sentimental and enthusiastic. Also after becoming Champion and completing the Pokedex, he was still fine with spending time with his friends and family.

Pokespe Red doesn't "catch them all," and does the anime thing of temporary teamups.

GSC Red does feed well into the fanon though since he doesn't call his mom, doesn't talk, and is a weirdo you find on top of a mountain. Might just be an Ash situation where he's out and about and doesn't own a cell phone. I don't know where people got the idea that he's 100% living on Mt.
